Gala Weekend

There’s nothing quite like Gala Weekend at Butlins Skegness.

The perfect weekend for the whole family to enjoy.

Gala Weekend is BTDAs largest and most prestigious event held in May/June each year at Butlins in Skegness.

It’s a weekend full of new experiences for students and their families including a varied programme of lectures with top choreographers for all age groups throughout Saturday and Sunday morning. Sunday is also parade day which the whole family can enjoy, followed by a Spectacular showcase performance from a selection of participating schools to finish off a wonderful weekend on a high.

Principals and Teachers can enjoy time catching up with colleagues in the hospitality suite throughout the event, so we hope to see you there. New friendships are made and it’s a real opportunity for schools to come together.

We offer a variety of accommodation choices for the 3-night event (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and schools are kept together as much as possible.

In the early evening, within the grassed areas next to the accommodation, schools can often be seen having picnics, arranging simple games and of course the students all practice their acrobatic moves. It creates a festive and fun atmosphere which is welcomed after a hard but enjoyable day dancing.

All that Butlins have to offer is included in the package so siblings that aren’t dancers and parents alike have many ways to fill their days and evenings with fun and excitement.

The dates for next year’s event are 30, 31 May & 1 June 2025.
