Tel: 0116 262 2279I formed the British Theatre Dance Association in 1972 after being asked by professional choreographers ‘why they needed to re-train dancers to perform the latest dance styles even though they had been attending lessons’, the BTDA Modern Jazz programmes were devised and thus BTDA was born. Since then it has gone from strength to strength and whilst the team now take care of the day to day running of the organisation I still steer its direction and am actively involved ensuring that teachers needs are taken care of. Tel: 0116 397 0867I have been involved with BTDA since it was founded in 1972 in various different guises, candidate, teacher, examiner, General Secretary. For me the highlights about working for BTDA are the people, the BTDA team, our examiners, outside consultants from whom I have learnt so much, and of course the membership. Whilst the pressures of regulation, policies and procedures and having to dot the ‘I’s and cross the ‘T’s are the mainstay of my working day, it is the interaction with the members that keeps me sane, I just love being able to help, if I can.

Tel: 0116 397 0868In my role as the Examination Secretary my daily tasks are dealing with Teachers in regards to their examinations sessions in particular the sourcing and allocating of examiners. Amongst other things I also arrange the annual scholarships. I am always at the other end of the telephone if you have any queries.

I also help the General Secretary with whatever she throws at me and cover some of her roles when she's away (big shoes to fill!!)
